A marketing seminar designed to help business owners win new customers has raised £1,000 for LOROS, the Leicestershire and Rutland Hospice. A total of 20 local business owners and marketing managers attended the ‘Going for Growth 2013’ seminar last month (January) at The Waterfront restaurant, Union Wharf in Market Harborough.
The event was hosted by author and public speaker Alastair Campbell, MD of The Ideal Marketing Company which is based at Knoll House at the Harborough canal basin. The seminar offered insights into the latest marketing thinking, with a focus on using low cost technology to win more customers. He was joined on the day by former Harborough Mail editor Brian Dodds, who offered his perspective on gaining media coverage for businesses.
Delegate Annette Hobbs from Harborough based Shoestring commented “After leaving the seminar I felt like I could conquer the world.” At the end of the event, all the delegates were asked if they would recommend the event and if it should run again – with a 100% affirmative response to both questions.
“The feedback we received was very positive, and so we’ve decided to run it again in March, in the hope of raising another £1,000 for LOROS,” comments organiser Alastair Campbell. The date for the next event is Thursday March 21st, and it will again take place at The Waterfront restaurant.
Tickets for the seminar, which runs from 10am till 4pm, cost £50 and include a buffet lunch. 100% of the money raised is being donated to LOROS, who offer support and care for those suffering from terminal illness in the East Midlands.
