A Harborough company which specialises in running live training events and conferences for a range of industries has celebrated staging its 100th event this month (May). Primary has created and delivered live events across the UK and Europe for a range of international clients, including Siemens, Honda and Intelligent Energy.

Primary (www.primary.co.uk) was set up in 2009 by Harborough businessman Dan Stevens who had many years of experience in the events industry. Dan first started the company working from his home in Gardiner Street. The business was so successful that Primary now has offices in Angel Court, and has recently expanded its premises to accommodate increased demand and a growing workforce.

Dan believes that the secret to the company’s success is making training and live events fun and innovative as well as engaging and effective. “Our company message is inspiring audiences to act, so any event that we stage has to be exciting and inspirational,” he comments. “It’s not unusual for us to achieve 80% upwards excellent ratings for our events. Because of this, companies return to us repeatedly to manage all sorts of events.”

Accredited by ROSPA, the company has organised training and events for an estimated 7500 delegates from different organisations over the past three years. Of the past 100 events, some have been held in unusual locations, including 26kms out to sea with offshore induction sessions often held onsite. Events have also involved royalty such as Prince Philip and the Duke of York, with training organised for some of industry’s biggest names.

“We are delighted with the growth that we have achieved over the past 3 years, despite the difficult economic climate,” adds Dan. “There isn’t any other company that does what we do in the town and we are proud to fly the flag for Harborough across the UK and Europe.”

Primary also helped to deliver the award winning Siemens Zero Harm campaign which helped the company to win an award from the National Joint Council (NJC) for Engineering and Construction Safety for demonstrating best practice in employee safety engagement initiatives. The company has been involved in delivering the campaign since 2010, running events across a multitude of on and offshore wind farms, turbine halls, accommodation vessels and static locations.
