Both David and James have extensive experience in the IT industry. David’s first trained as a computer programmer in the 1970s, moving on to freelance work as a technical consultant from 1984. Clients included household names such as British Rail, Thomson Holidays and Mars.

Keen to follow in his dad’s footsteps, James studied computer information systems at BathUniversity. After graduation, he returned to Kibworth working as an IT contractor, gaining his certification in Microsoft and VMWare. In February 2010 he moved to Barclaycard in Northampton working across the bank’s networks and applications.

When Barclaycard outsourced work abroad, father and son decided that the time was right to set up their own IT business based in their hometown. “I could have moved to Lithuania or Singapore to stay with the bank, but actually with my Dad coming to the end of a long term contract at around the same time, the logical move for us was to join forces,” comments James.
“When the Innovation Centre opened, it seemed like too good an opportunity to turn down. The centre is a great place to be; we have been made to feel so welcome and look forward to being here for a long time,” he adds.

Dataworks IT offer a range of IT support, aiming to ensure robust and efficient computer systems and work with small start-ups, established companies and individuals who require IT assistance.
