MHM were invited to Firenze in Kibworth by owner Sarah Poli to join them in celebrating their 10 year anniversary…

As described by The Financial Times as “One of the finest Italian restaurants in England, with an immaculate, ever-changing ‘all Italian’ wine list with food that reminds one of how food should really taste”, it soon becomes clear that this is no idle comment.

Firenze has a modern, warm and inviting interior creating an intimate dining experience at its best!

After being warmly greeted by our host, both ourselves and the entire restaurant were invited to join Sarah in celebration with a complimentary glass of fizz to begin our evening.
A varied and exciting menu ensures that this will be a dining experience you will remember for all the right reasons.

I finally decided to start with Bruschetta con Fegatini (chicken livers on garlic toast), and I wasn’t let down by my choice, I seemed to develop more of a hunger from this, full of taste and although spoilt for choice when I visit again I will most likely stick to what I know! My guest started with Tonno e Fagioli (tuna steak on bean salad) which seemed to disappear quicker than mine! This was a lovely introduction to food at Firenze.

You will be tempted by many of the main courses – the food is so good here that I defy anyone to choose their dishes in a hurry. After much deliberation we opted for Filetto di Branzino con Spinaci e Salsa Allo Zafferano (fillet of wild sea bass with spinach and saffron sauce) and Pollo con Caprino e Pomodori Secchi (stuffed breast of chicken with soft goats cheese and sundried tomatoes), both I have to say were impeccable!

And finally, dolci, or pudding, we sampled tiramisu and Crostata al Cioccolato which translates to dark chocolate tart.

Alongside the excellent food you will find a service to match. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, They helped us feel at ease and we never once felt rushed.

This establishment is ideal for those special occasions; we judge restaurants on the quality of their food, service, décor and atmosphere. Firenze consistently excels in every respect.
